Bed Bugs in Houston, The Woodlands, Spring, & Conroe, Texas

Welcome back to CPL pest control podcast channel. I’m your host, Chris Villarreal president and general manager of huge CPL pest controls, Houston division. And today we want to talk about bedbugs. So, with it being the winter season, now, statistically speaking is the most popular time for bedbugs to kind of surface themselves. We’ll go into detail as to why that is. But if you’re listening to this podcast, you’re probably maybe dealing with a problem or, you know, wondering if you have this problem of bedbugs. So, we’ll kind of go into detail of what what you’re looking for, what some of the signs are, and just kind of go from there. So what is the bedbugs? So your bedbug is, you know, they are an insect, they do travel via host in so they don’t necessarily originate in the soil, like your aunts and your crickets and your spiders do. But your bedbug is transferred from place to place via a host. And so, a lot of the times you know bedbugs will enter a domain or a place based on travel, you know, a lot of times you know will will go to hotels or will go to theaters will go to you know public transportation. And, you know, pick up these little critters and move them from point A to point B. And so that’s how they that’s how they travel. And so it’s very important to understand that it has nothing to do with cleanliness. I’ve had a lot of customers tell me, Chris, I have a you know, very clean home, we don’t have any bugs. I don’t know how we I don’t know how we got this problem. It has nothing to do with with being clean or dirty. Now granted, you know, some of your more, you know, infested cases, some of your more severe cases or some of your more dirty, you know, habitations. And so but the two are not correlated together. So we’ve seen very clean homes have problems very, not so clean homes have problems. So it has nothing to do with that. But your bedbug is your it’s a small little insect. Most people know right away when they’re looking at a bedbug that they are indeed, looking at a bedbug. It just has a very distinct, you know feature to them. They’re kind of reddish brown and color kind of small kind of circular, kind of look like a tick but move a little bit faster than your tick. And so your your bedbug, they traditionally like to hide in areas that are going to be close to the food source. And so that’s going to be in beds that’s going to be in sofas, that’s going to be in chairs, it’s going to be places where you and I frequently sit, you see the bedbug doesn’t like to expose themselves, there’s plenty of areas for them to hide, they don’t want to be seen. So what they’ll do is they’ll hide in these areas where they where they can stay hidden. And they’ll wait till they can sense he they’ll come out once they sense the heat and latch on hoping to you know, hoping that it’s a food source. And so that’s the reason why we see them come out, you know, you know, for the most part, you know, in the evening time because that’s when we’re in some of these places, the most sofas and beds and things like that, you know. And so, very important, very important that that, you know, a thorough inspection is done to make sure that the bedbug area the bedbug issue is consolidated just to you know, certain area. You know, I’ve had a lot of people say, you know, I’m just seeing them in my room. And that may very well be the case. But here’s the problem, we’re back to our original place where we started this conversation. bedbugs can can transport really fast and so when they can transport really fast, there is a danger in that they can go from your bed to the sofa relatively fast and a lot of the times we don’t even know it and now we drop drop someone drops them off in a sofa or a chair and there they are, and now starting a little sub colony in that area. So very important that thorough inspections are done now, what can be done to eliminate the bedbug problem. So when we think of you know the bedbug solution, we have we here at CPLs theater offer two types of solutions. You know, we do offer a heat treatment, but we do offer most importantly a chemical treatment. So 95% of treatments can be done using the chemical treatment. We reserved the you know the the heat treatment for your very severe cases. whichever, like I said, limited to maybe about, you know, three to maybe three to 5%, if not even less. And the reason why our chemical treatment is so effective is we, you know, effectively treat all the areas where we know bedbugs are going to be where we know they’re statistically likely to hide. And we and we pretty much spray everything. So in doing so we totally eliminate the bedbug problem. But here’s the catch. Two services are required. A lot of guys will go out and only do one service and then a free inspection, which, you know, most times you’re gonna come out of that free inspection and say, oh, there’s not a problem. Now, here’s the problem with that. Bedbugs will you know they’ll they’ll the eggs will hatch. And if a treatment isn’t done fortunate 21 days after the first treatment, those eggs that hatch will slowly start to build up a new colony slowly start to bite you and I and slowly, you know, rebuild the colony. So very important that a secondary Mint is done to eliminate those second generational bedbugs that hatch. And and of course, that’s all included in that in that price packaging. But like I said, Your first step is, what am I looking for looking for bedbugs? Am I seeing the blood on the bed? Am I seeing them on my bed? Am I seeing them in the sofa?
